We are a non-profit social enterprise set up to pioneer a new approach to mental health support. Our mission is to provide a socially progressive mental health service, supporting communities to improve mental health as a positive mediator of sustainable change. We work with individuals and groups utilizing a broad range of informed approaches, providing coaching to empower and inspire action, with a long-lasting impact. Our approach differs slightly to the current support already on offer insofar as we pro-actively encourage active citizenship and the promotion of self-sustainability, creating an environment whereby communities are themselves the asset - rather than the service. This social approach to improving mental health ensures that participants are no longer seen as passive recipients of a service, however well-intentioned it may be. Furthermore, our service is led by a team of staff with extensive and relevant experience of mental health services, mentorship, capacity building and individualized approaches. We use an approach called asset based community development to work within communities to map the pre-existing capabilities and assets available, both individual and as part of a wider collective. We then develop the confidence and leadership skills of the citizens within to capitalize upon these assets, maximizing awareness and assuring long-lasting, sustainable and empowering changes. We promote the idea of mental health action, that is, an effort which progresses way beyond the fundamental, yet limited, state of mental health awareness. We support communities to create horizontal community networks of knowledge and support. The impact of our approach has many benefits, one of which is the quicker availability of mental health support and a reduced burden on mainstream services. Furthermore, we promote this variety of socially driven mental health support as it is validated and rooted in the evidence-based literature.

"We're going to show you how to remove anxiety disorders completely and for good... and we'll have fun doing it too!"
We believe that education is key, as most anxiety is created through fears that can be developed in early age.
The more we understand about ourselves, the better we can understand and work through the anxieties that can consume lives.
A part of It Starts With You Wellness® teaches specific skills and tools for anxiety sufferers to find relief through its program, The Positive Mindset™ Program. It can help re-build the inner strength, confidence, courage, and happiness that gets lost when anxiety takes over.
